Real Pawtential Website is Up!

It's taken me a month and hours of tutorials and exploration in Dreamweaver. But I have just launched the Real Pawtential Pet Sitting and Dog Walking website. After completing the logo design I was ask to create a website to get new and existing customers to see what Real Pawtential has to offer in the pet hospitality business. Take a live look at the site - www.realpawtential.com.

Sand Sculptures!

Just back from a much needed vacation down on the Cape. Yet no matter where I go I cannot get away from being artsy. And who wouldn't with all that sand just waiting to be sculpted. Below are my creations over my short two day stay in Wellfleet:

Pencil sketches. Who ever said old habits die? Sure knowing the latest technology is great but no artist is complete without some background in the form of traditional art. Here is a compilation of varied styles ranging from caricatures to head shots.

I had the privilege to do some volunteer design work for the non-profit organization known as PRASAD. They recently invested in a new mobile unit for their dental division and were looking for a design to wrap around the bus. It was a fun, long, and exhausting process and in the end I came up with three options.

Although none were chosen (because apparently spending money on another design makes a lot of sense as opposed to my free designs). They ended up selecting a similar design to my third option [shown above]. Again, why they didn't just go with mine is still perplexing to me. But I guess its a good piece to put in my portfolio.

The logo is comprised of three elements; a city skyline, rolling farmlands, and a (pictograph) runner. The city skyline (representing the modern technology in building and management) formed merely by negative white space, sits in the forefront of a stylized representation of a tree. Below this, two abstract marks, reflecting the natural hills, illuminate the cold, blue cityscape with a warm, nimble rhythmic continuation that flows into the runner as if to also portray its movement.

Inspiration: 2007 alternative Washington Capitals logo, Obama’s “O logo”, Comfort Inn logo

So I recently came across a logo contest for the European Athletics Championship and figured I'd enter. Unfortunately, I was not chosen as one of four finalist. Here is the link to the 258 submissions:

Gas Man

Just a little image to get my blog started. Did this around December for a family Christmas swap. The theme was World War II. Enjoy.
